The Essential Tools For Internet Marketers

Autoresponders – This is a service that Internet marketers just can’t do without. The 2 leaders in the industry are Aweber and Getresponse (Simon Grabowski’s Implix product). Aweber will cost you $19.95 per month and GetResponse will cost you $17.95. I have used both and there really isn’t much between them as far as functionality goes. Both services offer an affiliate program where you make a commission by referring others to the service.

Multimedia – As the web becomes more and more interactive, having audio and video on your web pages and sales pages is becoming super important. Recently Frank Kern did a launch for his Infomillionaire product and his sales page was video only.

There are some different services that you can use to add audio and video to your websites. Audio Acrobat is a very popular one which goes for $19.95 per month. There are some others out there that offer a similar service at around the same price.

Meetings – This includes teleconferences and webinars. For network marketers building a business online these two are essential services. For affiliate marketers, holding a teleconference can be an excellent income generator as well. I have tried many different services and usually I come back to GoToWebinar. This allows you to do a webinar (teleconference where attendees can see your computer screen). To have the service that allows you to have 1000 participants will cost you $99 per month. You can also choose the GoToMeeting option which will cost you $49 per month but restricts you to 15 participants.

If you just want to do a teleconfernce without sharing your screen then there are some decent free teleconfernece lines but they can be problematic and that can cost you money. I have also used the Instant teleconfence service which is excellent. It generates a landing page for your registrants to go to and they can listen via the web or by phone, can enter questions through a chat box, and the calls are recorded for play. The service is excellent but a little pricey in my experience. It is $49 per month and that gives you 8 hours of call time and then you pay $2 per hour after that.

Tracking – Tracking is something that every internet marketer needs to be doing, if you are not, then you will be basically flying in the dark. If you don’t know what is working then how can you do more of it?

I have tried a number of tracking services; Adtrackz, Hypertracker (Simon Grabowski’s Implix product, and Adwatcher). At the moment I’m using Adtrackz because it was a script that I could install on my website and so there were no on going fees. It was $97 and a $30 installion fee for people that at not comfortable with creating data bases and installing it themselves.

Hypertracker is a great service, easy to use but does have a monthly cost of $19.95 per month.

Adwatcher is a very easy to use and is a very sophisticated tracking system but is a little pricey. The pricing for Adwatcher is per click – 5000 clicks per month is $29.95, 25,000 clicks per month is $44.95 and it goes up and up.

These are basically the tools that you will need with some other coming in as well such as web hosting.

Even at the cheap end to have these tools is going to cost you close to $160 per month. I think that this is actually a very reasonable cost to run a business but why pay more if you don’t have to?

All of the essential tools that I mentioned have affiliate programs which means that I get paid a commission when I refer peopel to those services (which I do on a regular basis). Perhaps the hardest thing about this is I’m recommending these services in dribs and drabs. Publishers will soon be able to convert their content to mobile quickly, easily and for free, thanks to Mippin, the latest service from UK-based mobile developers Refresh Mobile.

“This is the first time that publishers have a meaningful way to take their content, be it in video, audio or image format, and put it on mobile”, says Scott Beaumont of Refresh Mobile.

The company, which has won Nokia’s Developer of the Year award for their Mobizines product, have developed an exciting range of new services designed to revolutionise mobile content publication. The new service launched this week brings video, audio and images embedded in RSS feeds to mobile devices.

Bringing Video To Mobile RSS Feeds

The Mippin service takes images embedded in RSS feeds, processes them separately and feeds them back in a format suitable to the mobile device. Videos embedded within RSS feeds get transcoded into 3gp format on the fly. High end devices can then stream that video content. Users with less sophisticated handsets would need to download videos to view them.

Videos are not actually transcoded by Mippin. The system identifies the user parameters and the video information. It then passes this on to BlueApple, who transcode and host the transcoded video. End users, however, do not see this process, and instead view the videos as if they were on the Mippin site itself.

Mippin has trumped the likes of Google, whose service FeedBurner does not currently deliver images, audio and video appropriately to mobile devices. Without Mippin the images and videos contained in an RSS feed will not work properly, and could cause problems loading the feed or even cause the mobile browser to crash if a user attempted to play the video in the feed, unless publishers created special mobile versions of every image, audio file and video stream.

Free Mobile Website Development

The next and even more exciting service from Refresh Mobile will be launched in the second week of March. This new service will provide publishers the tools needed to create a free-standing mobile website without the Mippin branding on it.

Mippin Maker, the new tool will allow a wide variety of publishers to take content from their current site, put it in an RSS feed and convert it into a mobile format in just 3 easy steps. According to Scott Beaumont of Refresh Mobile, “there are 120 million blogs with RSS feeds out there. Through the simple syndication all of these blogs are immediately open to all mobile devices. With the Mippin Maker publishers don’t need an incremental investment in mobile in order to get their content out there.”

While the Mippin Maker will not be suitable for mobile commerce sites, it could prove to be an invaluable tool for the scores of information sites currently online. A tool such as this one could bring us closer to wide-scale adoption of the mobile Internet, as more and more publishers will be able to easily bring their content to mobile, providing users the same wealth of information they are used to seeing on their PCs.
